Computer software used to train/educate and consult with healthcare professionals using digital characters Virtual Doctor TM pending The Virtual Doctor technology moves clinical practice into the future. Robots can now be used remotely so that physicians can appear virtually, on a screen that is attached to a mobile robotic platform. The doctor will be able to communicate with healthcare providers and patients using the virtual doctor technology. In addition, the doctor will be able to examine the patient (i.e.: listen to heart, lungs and abdomen or examine the eyes), review diagnostic tests, X-rays, skin lesions or other symptoms and focus on any part of the human body using the robotic camera lens. This will be helpful for serving rural and remote geographic areas nationally and globally where the diagnostic capability of health professionals needs supplemental input, or second opinions, for medical conditions that include pre and post-surgery evaluation. Second and Third world countries and isolated communities that may not have specialists available will benefit from this technology. Since a shortage of doctors is projected globally, this technology will also allow a doctor to maximize service hours that would normally be spent traveling to the patient.
