Providing a web service through which merchants (businesses) can administer a customer loyalty program whereby the merchants issue reward points to customers (users) when such customers travel through (e.g., by driving, walking, running, or biking) or stay within any reward region or regions defined by a geo-fence or geo-fences established by the merchants using a location aware service/device, such as a Global Positioning System (GPS), cellular signal triangulation, WiFi, or any other location aware service; such reward points being redeemable by the customers or the customers' transferees for gifts, discounts, coupons, prizes, and/or offers from the respective merchants
