Fine Tuning Therapy, Inc (201) 493-9310 Owner, Jody-Lynn Reicher The Criteria to be a Clinical BodyWorker-- The first set of criteria to be a Clinical BodyWorker-- The practitioner has attended classes and received certifications or diplomas in the following-- 1 Massage Therapy School 2 Certification(s) in Active Release Technique by Dr P Michael Leahy 3 Certified in Trigger Point Therapy, based on the writings of Dr Janet Travell 4 Certified in Neuromuscular Therapy 5 Certified in either Oncology Touch or HIV Touch 6 Has attended a class in either Geriatric or Prenatal Massage 7 Must have taken and passed the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork The second set of criteria to be a Clinical BodyWorker-- 1 Is the willingness to work with ALL facets of the medical field This includes Medical Doctors, Doctors of Osteopath, Physical Therapists, Psychiatrists, Dentists, Nurses, Doctors of Chiropractic, Registered Dieticians, Psychologists, Liscenced Social Workers, Naturopaths, Homeopaths, and Aruveydic 2 A Clinical BodyWorker is considered a complimentary medical discipline 3 The willingness to refer out to another practitioner in the same field or in another field, going by the patients' needs 4 The patients' health is our first priority 5 To share notes with others in the medical field(MD's, DO's, DC's, etc), as long as it is approved by all parties involved in the patients' matter The third set of criteria to be a Clinical BodyWorker-- The practitioner usually deals with the following medical conditions (just to name a few)-- Parkinson's Disease Terret's Syndrome Dequarvian's Depuytren's Contracture Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Trigger Finger Reflex Sympathetic Disorder (RSD) Cancer Patients HIV/AIDS Multiple Sclerosis Spinal Fusions Back patients with-- scoliosis, stenosis, sacro-iliac joint dysfuntion, piriformis syndrome, sciatic nerve injury, facet syndromes, Cervical-- Whiplash, Torticollis, Bone spurs, Diabetic Neuropathy Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ) Rotator Cuff injuries Rheumatoid Arthritis Osteoarthritis Most forms of Tendonitis (eg-- tennis elbow-lateral epicondylitis) Pain Management Fibromyalgia Frozen Shoulder Laryngeal Spasm Plantar Fascitis Shin Splints Muscle Pulls, Strains and Tears Chondramalagia Patella Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction Trigger Points The fourth criteria to be a Clinical BodyWorker includes the following-- 1 Proper patterning or body-mapping of the patient 2 Legible notes per patient file of each treatment 3 Sign and filled out consent form 4 A Doctor's Prescription (if a Doctor referred them to you) or a Clinical Bodywork and Massage Therapy Referral Form 5 Any additional notes you received from other doctors should be in their file as well
